So my head gasket went, no biggy as I know enough about these engines to do it almost blind folded.

That said, some things kinda baffling me that I havent seen before.

Got the usual, mayo oil, and same with the water, but....my soft intake pipes that come from the filter have mayo in them, on the driverside, the steel turbo inlet pipe is FULL and i mean FULL of water/oil mixture!, as is the driver side plenum and the pipes that go from turbo/cooler/throttlebody, also in the plenum about an inch deep in water/oil mixture!

the passenger side isnt as bad tho, just a mayo film in the pipes and nothing on that side of the plenum...so im wondering

what on earth caused that? :headvswal

so its just all been blown out due to high crankcase breathers?

im guessing these have then been highly pressurised somehow thanks to the HG failing?

very likely,as you probably know the pcv job is to recirculate blow-by gases from the engine,if the pressure is increased and the already old pcv valves and hoses are not up to there job, all that pressure has to go somewhere, unfortunatly that means backwards in to the intake systym :(
