Ok I'm choking on petrol fumes really bad, I have a fuel line kit, so I need to tighten up some points on that if plus I saw a post from Alexporshe that WilliO replied to

link to thread re: petrol leaks

1.Ok I need a diagram so I can go look at my car with a screwdriver and fix the ones I can see

2. WilliO refers to the fpr, what is it?, can i do this myself? (novice)

Smithy hope you don't mind me using the piccie

Please someone put some circles on the points on the picture I need to tighten up and would anyone help me sort out the fuel leak

(I am willing to travel)

the worst smells are from when I get out of the car so under the wing area nearside is where it is coming from (cough, :( choke)

I've been to 3 local garages, one wouldn't even look at my car, the other one was rude as couldn't cope with a woman driving a zed

The other one looked and then changed their mind as it was too complicated

If you look at the red bracket on smithy's fuel hoses that clips them together you'll see the Fuel Pressure Regulator (FPR) underneath it and one of the red connectors on the hose is coming out from under the engine centre cover and fastens onto it.

It's a small mushroom shaped thing with 3 pipes going into it.

The most common leak is on the bottom pipe of the FPR as it's a pain to get to and has a short piece of pipe about 2 inches long that's hard to tighten up depending on how the clips were put back.

90% sure that's your problem.

Remember the system is pressurised so if you have to take a pipe off leave it overnight or you'll get sprayed with petrol :o

The other way is to take out the fuel pump fuse and run the car until it stalls.

Easier to see the Fuel Pressure Regulator here:

The FPR is under the throttle cover (see arrow) which needs to be removed and there is a small fuel pipe coming from it going down into the engine. The best view is from drivers side. This is where mine was leaking badly. Other than that tighten up all the screws & clips you can see (ringed).

your fpr could have had it as well that would cause small amounts of fuel to drip from the prvr

thanks guys :)

I have printed the info with all the diagrams and will have a good look (when it stops snowing!)

I just done mine

Removed the throttle cover then tightened anything with a jubilee clip on it.

Mine stank of petrol this morning.

Nearly every single fuel clip was loose - some not even finger tight :) Wonder where my petrol was going :) lol
