Hi

Does anyone know if different models of the 300zx had different shades of tints of glass?Are Uk models blueish tint and J spec different?

I have a black 94 J spec and the glass isn't exactly clear but does have a brownish tint?

When i had an Mr2 years ago they used to have blue tinted glass for Uk specs and bronze/brownish tinted glass for J spec.....does the same apply with Z's?

Nope! Its not that simple.

Some J spec cars have blue also.

Thats interesting, not seen before, perhaps later series jspec as they introduced glass changes in 1997. As long as the confusion is'nt just becuase many jspec screens have been replaced in their lifetime with blue tinted version.

 

In fact luke @ zcentre states brown=jspec blue=uk himself, unless new info has come his way very recently.

My J-spec SWB has blue tints - but then again it has a blue interior and blue paintwork :)

J Spec cars with blue interiors had matching blue tinted glass.

I was discusing this with Luke recently but I dont remember what else he said.

The series VI (1999) had ultraviolet reducing, rain repelling glass with factory mirror tints on the little side windows and rear windscreen. ( :tongue: )

My mate works for autoglass and he thinks jap cars normaly have bronze tint with a bronze/blue top tint.And uk cars have blue with a blue /blue or blue /green top tint hes not 100 % thought.my swb import has bronze glass with a bronze /blue top tint.

My '91 Jap spec has blue tint/sunstrip

Just getting a new screen after it got broke during my engine work :(
