The SWB Z must be a fair bit lighter than the LWB, so is the 0-60 time much better? I've been trying to find a comparison on the net but can't seem to uncover much info on the SWB performance. Anybody tested one? I'm currently looking at a '93 auto SWB TT.

Cheap is good. Unless it's suspiciously cheap!

if my geography is any good i rekon thats quite close to Ztech, you might find a couple of experts there

Yeah I may give them a call after I take a first look at it. They were really useful when I gave them a call about another I looked at that had been modded, and told me not to touch it with a barge pole!

Some peolpe say you cant get a 2x2 slicktop maybe not factory but steve millen drove a 2x2 slicktop as a race car .Some peole say this was a fibreglass shell i dont know. Some one somewhere must of converted from targas to a steel roof on a 2x2.

Dont think anybody mentioned 2+2 slicktops on this thread

There is no such thing is a 2+2 slicktop. But yes, Somebody, somewhere may have done a DIY conversion. Doubt it, but maybe.

LWB's and SWB's are just as bad as each other, the SWB slicktop Twin Turbo Manual is king :smash:

Just been searching the web and ive found that in the states you couldnt get a swb slicktop only a targa and its quite a populaur conversion to change to a slicktop they say a weight saving of 40 to 50 kg due to centre bar and glass targas im working on the 2x2 slicktop theory.

Its not a popular conversion, but yes Im sure some may have done it.

The trouble is you lose one of the best features then :smash:

Just found out they did make a slicktop for the us market manual only not sure if tt or na but in 1993 only 69 cars where made in japan for the us market lhd most where turned into race cars and the rest hold a high premium on the second hand market.Slicktops are mega rare in the us.

Only NA Slicktops went to the US taff, although there are a few TT's now, but converted NA's
