The SWB Z must be a fair bit lighter than the LWB, so is the 0-60 time much better? I've been trying to find a comparison on the net but can't seem to uncover much info on the SWB performance. Anybody tested one? I'm currently looking at a '93 auto SWB TT.

The little version does accelerate quicker.

 

It's allegedly less stable in high speed bends and harder to get some parts for. Still probably more desirable than the big version.

one is shorter than the other :tongue:

fuel cap infront of the wheel arch on a shorty. the line of the rear hatch across the rear quater window. oh and the fact there are the missing rear seats LOL

SWB - no rear seats plus fuel filler cap in front of the wheel arch.

Petrol cap near door handle on swb petrol cap on the other side of wheel arch on 2x2 its so many inches shorter too dont know who much can any body tell me how much shorter .Diffrent tailgate and rear bumper and rear quarter windows and 2 less seats.Thanks taff :bow:

no problem even less in a swb just get the targas off and stick her legs out the roof hehe btw ive never done it :x:

Plus, sideways action must be more fun in the LWB, having extra weight at the back! Off road only of course!!!

Haven't done it yet, but might try it for research purposes! Will keep you posted!

Most of the performance figures will be for the SWB, as most tests were done in the U.S, where all TT's are SWB.

 

It seems makes about a 0.1 - 0.2 sec difference, but since you'll never get the same 0-60 every time its not exact science.
