Looking good mate.

I have a lot of problems with my air filters mounted in a similar position to yours.

It's fine when driving but when stood in the rain water pours in all around the headlight panel and soaks the filters.

Might not be so bad with those but on the Apexi's they don't allow any air in when wet and the car won't even start.

Trying to reposition mine at the moment but with the Doolz setup I've got I can't see any way of doing it.

You'll probably have to make some kind of splash guard above to stop them getting drenched.

Strange thing is it's not a problem even when driving in heavy rain.

Really interesting pics guys, seeing how this wonderful engine goes together. Being new to 300's it's great to see pics like this.

Good luck with it all Kirbz :D GUMBALL

Nicccccccce  ;) :D

what cabling did you use to get the battery in the back mike? is the stuff from demon tweeks gonna suffice, and are all the earthing points now in the boot?

was gonna use the space for an expansion tank

edit - ooh, ooh and is the catch tank replacing the pcvs?

cheers!

I went to my local aut electricians and bought some proper cable, cost me about £15 for 5 meters.

Yes the engine will still be earthed in the same position and i am having several earthing positions in the boot.

Yes the catch tank pretty much replaces the pcv valves :)

but i have my old one which is perfect to go on ;)

Well today has been pretty constructive.

Some of the studs on the downpipes had stripped off when removing them so replaced all them.

The border rail takes the fuel lines right to the back of the plenum and takes them right next to the hard water pipes so i had to have some 90 degree fitments made up but its all on now :)

Fitted my 99 spec lights, centre panel is on its way but still looks niles better.

Removed the carbon canister etc!! you should see how much crap ive removed from the car ;)

More importantly we test fitted the engine back in to test the custom stainless pipework we have put in and the RHS is perfect, the LHS needs a little work so ive had some more stainless bent to the right amount and just needs cutting to make it all fit :)

So tomorrow, weather depending we should be putting the clutch and box back on and fitting it back into the car so the car should be running by the weekend :)

Thanks god :p

ya goin to be running it in to the meet on sunday? looking real good there kirbz

unlikely as it will still be running a map on 555cc injectors and will have 850cc's so i dont know how well it will run :(

fingers crossed should be all done in 2-3 weeks ;)

problem was with having a triple clutch there was 3 splines to get 100% lined up!! in the end we fitted the clutch, lined it up but left the clutch loose then fitted the box to line it up after each plate but turning the prop in the back and once it all lined up we carefully removed it nipped it back up, tried it again and hey presto :)

Engine is in just connecting it all up now, so should be all conected up etc tomorrow or monday
