If you take a look at the link in my thread mate you will see a link to Demon Tweeks for the fluid. If your synchromesh has gone your ony looking at about £500 for a gearbox specialist to drop the box and replace the synchromesh. HTH so your better off trying the oill first. IMHO

sorry to hijack butwhere abouts are you cona2k as we are hopefully going to get a south central group going and would like to put you on the list of potential people to attend mets ect if thats ok mate.

could be clutch problem . check pedal adjustment is correct. and fluid is in good condition .

I have given up with the N/A gearbox transplant! best get some redline

me recons!. did you see the post about my petrol pipe hole :( not the best

situation to be in.

Looks like the redline can reduce gear crunch and save £££££££££

will have to have a look then i guess so im looking at £80 for the oil. it seems like a lot

is your problem difficult selection or crunching into first gear ?

if its crunching then its prob synchro faults if its difficult selection check the clutch system .

redline same with any aftermarket gear oils are all good and well, but over time they are harsher on the syncros and more than anything just prolongs the damage

but £80 sounds alot but its a lot cheaper than a recon box costing around £800+

it aint crunching its just hard to select any idea and how do i check all the clutch

Check the fluid level, also check for any leaks around the slave ;)

Bleed the clutch system, slave/master cly and if standard manual (not auto to man) maybe around the drivers headlight area (under bonnet) i think.

if the manual conversion had no shortcuts then it should have the extra bleed line running up by the PS pot,if this has been braised blocked off then slave and master cylinder only

ok changed box oil and still stiff there is clutch fluid around the gbox area. what now :(

You'll need four of those bottles because (from memory - you should check this yourself) the fluid capacity of the manual gearbox is something like 3.1 or 3.6 litres. *DON'T* overfill it (or underfill it for that matter). Check how much you need.

Cheers mate :duffer: I was just about to ask that as on the Demon Tweeks site it does not say how much is in a bottle. :smash:
