Does anyone know if the black line of tape that sits in the swag lines on body can be removed easily without damage to paint ?

It will depend greatly on whether or not it is under laquer mate. If it isnt then you should use a hair dryer to heat it up and it will then come off with minimal effort. I had this problem not long back. after it is off T-cut will remove any evidance that it was there. Or should do anyway. if it is under laquer it can still be removed but i would seek proffesional help from a bodyshop. HTH. :)

if its not under the paint then do it with a hairdryer, BUT heat up the paint beside the stripe and not the stripe itself.

by doing it this way you heat up the glue underneath and it will come off dead easy, if you heat the stripe chances are it will just snap into little bits.

just my 2ps worth!

def heat it up doing my rear bumper at present and it's a right bitch as there are 3 layers of tape on mine

There is a bit of kit out we use in bodyshops called a ' Caramel wheel ' which is basically a soft rubber wheel on a mandrel which you put in a drill and it rubs the line and glue off without damaging the paintwork , cracking bit of kit , any good motor factor should have them . HTH
