can any one help???

my manual TT is running at 2000rpm, ive cleaned the IAA and regulator valves, TB's and replaced all pipes around the IAA, the TBS is set to .045v and all connectors have been cleaned i.e water temp, AAC and FICD and the regulator connector, but it still runs high. that is untill i disconnect the AAC valve connector, then it drops. please is there any one out there that can help???

Well I aint no expert but Id have a look at trouble faulting the AAC

remember if tyou have cleaned throttle bodies and other components,it will take a couple hundred miles for the ECU to learn the new readings etc

have you ajusted the base idle, using the ajuster screw in the side of the IAA unit?although thats a high rpm, that would take a lot of ajustment to bring it down, does the rpm not settle even when warm, if you have problems with the IAA unit

Idle Air Regulator (IAR).IAA This valve lives on the the intake manifold, above the passenger-side Its temperature sensitive open when cold, closed when hot. That makes the car idle higher when it's warming up,cleaning of the yellow and blue connectors at the back of the iaa unit may help

ive set the base idle to 700rpm with the AAC conector off but it still jumps up again when reconnected. all connectors have been cleaned. i guess i will have to wait a couple of hundred miles to see what happens

baydon is in wiltshire :x:

I had this happen to me this weekend when i set the base idle and adjusted the tps........then I read one post that says to disconnect the tps ( grey plug that u connect the multimeter to) for at least 10 secs with the engie running ,then reconnect it to clear the tps section of the ecu self learn and that sorted it out.

well disconnecting and reconnecting the TPS has brought the revs down, but now as soon as i bring the engine up to 2000rpm it drops to around 1000 and bounces up and down continusly, i think im gona have to leave it for the ztech boys. thanks to every one any way that gave me advice on the mater. cheers guys

Dont give up yet mate

The idle air control sys is quite simple if it is that.

The jumping rpm sounds like a stuck air adjustment control valve as the exact same symptoms happened with a audi I had once .Take off the pipe to the valve and try to get some wd40 into it and try again after letting it soak for a bit.
