looking to get some bigger intercoolers for the Zed for summer

really like the look of the Front mounted ones in a 99 spec bumper

question is:

which would be better? uprated sides or much bigger front

not too fussed at doing minor mods to make the front one fit

seen decent kits in the states for about 1000 dollas

thanks

all depends on what bumper mate, if you have open mouth like mine then a front mount would look best and work better as the side mounts are covered by the bumper.

yay another troublemaker! ;)

well mac1 has side mounts on his

so if its good enough for the greddy beast, then it would be good enough for me

lmao

what did i do different!

suppose i better check links before i post them!

Mac's car would give even better performance with a nice big front mounter!!!!! Increased cooling volume and all that...

Not a chance :nono:

greddy side mounted on mine, gets my vote

Ditto, there must be a few guys here with these as there was a GB last year on them after the Thor dyno day showed most cars were running high intake temps. Greddys are good though with all fittings included :)

smithy

SMIC

Pro's

Provide all the cooling you need

Easy to fit

Minimum pressure drop = quicker spool

Con's

Dont have that "cool look" factor

FMIC

Pro's

Have that "cool look" factor

Con's

Restrict Air to rad. Must have uprated Rad and fully efficient cooling

Require Repositioning of oil cooler

More pressure drop = more lag

Wont fit behind all bumpers

May require removal of Front foglights

FMIC are popular on Straight 4 and 6 engines.

The V6 should be treated as 2x 1.5 litre engines with seperate Feeds for both ;)

I've got the Pace sidemounts and very happy + loads of power.

Would love a nice looking front mount but it's a lot of work to install with no real benefits.

How is it a lot of work to install ? the Greddy kit can be installed with the bumper off in an hour.

For once Legrath is 100% SPOT on IMHO

Just for the record I would NOT fit a front mount if I was paid to do so

State some facts then come on lol this should be interesting.........

a silly question :slap: . is there nothing in a intercooler but air

stewiedoom1.gif

well peter rosenborg always said to me front mounts do not work that good in a zed because of the overheating what can occur through lack of air flow to the radiator, plus when i went to cyprus and asked nitropow he said the same thing happens with his one
