Restricted to 155mph

Unrestict it and stock will go 170+

Some mods and you will get 180+

There are Zs that have done 250+

u shiting me !180???!!! at what point do me standard tyres blow at though???!lol

what derestriction though !?

The car is electronically restructed to 155mph. So when you reach that speed, the ECU controls the fuel not alowing you to go any faster. You can have your car chipped to remove this.

I think ZR tyres are good for 180

176mph and she was still pulling, sorry to go on about it for those who allready know,I think I could top that by 10mph,but I had to back off frown.gif.

Timmy you junior LOL!

Dont forget that the stock Nissan speedo is wildly inaccurate, probably by tens of miles per hour, not just a few!

Ideally you will need some kind of GPS based measuring equipment to give an accurate figure.

If you get caught for those speeds on the public road, you can kiss your car goodbye, and you will probably be looking forward to sharing an alfresco room in Cuba with a Taliban friend. biggrin.gif

Timmy you junior LOL!

being locked up depends on where you get caught i got done for 136mph in a group of 6 cars with the one at the front doing 165mph he got a 2yr ban and i got 1yr which wasnt bad considering what we'd done hey even the fine was only 500 sovs and this was in good old leeds so diffrent areas means diffrent penalties

i hope not to be caught but !what the hell i just cant find a road big-enough but i do belive in saftey though which is why me arse went at 145 mph lol biggrin.gif

Just out of interest, what was the speedo showing at 176mph?

I've checked mine with a GPS unit and at 90 the speedo showed 93mph.

Dave it depends how big your wheels are,Mine are 18" and my speedo was showing 170.

So it seems like the stock Nissan speedo isn't quite as inaccurate as some people think!

Tens of miles an hour out indeed. rolleyes.gif

Dave out of interest what size are your wheels?

When did speeding become treated like a criminal offence?

It really bugs how this view became established.Too many do gooder`s with sad lives, and who themself are usually just as likely to exceed the speed limit anyhow.

Like most performance cars, ours have a whole host of safety features and driver aids that really make a 90 mph or 120 mph run comfortable and without drama.

Now try that in a 1.3 Corsa with a couple of high trucks in the lane next to you, scarey!! Dont know about you lot but I see more small engined car drivers exceeding the speed limit and taking risks than your average performance car driver. (Eg. Nova`s, Corsa`s,Punto`s Xr2`s Xr3`s ect, ect.)and they are often driven by women who are usually the first to point a finger at speeding men drivers!! (Oh sh?t!)

The modern car is so much more capable than when speed limits were set like on motorways,my view is that Z drivers should be excempt on the merit of having such good taste in cars!! (lol) oh and by the way the reference to lady drivers was meant "In the best possible taste" there are crap men drives too.

I love speeding too (on my very long driveway biggrin.gif)! Just don't get caught that's all! wink.gif

I heard a rumour that the Government would like to be able to crush the vehicles of owners caught excessively speeding...like for not having a tax disk! biggrin.gif

I think the government is too busy taking bribes off companies and too busy planning the next trip abroad to do this.

Plus it can never happen. It is the driver who is breaking the law when speeding and the driver who is punnished.

But with no Tax, it is the car that is illegal and to rid the country of illegal cars they are crushed.

Stuart

When I'm doing a spot on 75mph my Techtom is telling me I'm doing 70mph and it seems to be consistent and the same through the range.

Nelson gauges and dials are Pinocchios basically, don't believe anything they tell you! ROFL biggrin.gif

Mine has been to 155 against an S-Type Jag and trust me, there is plenty left! wink.gif

Disclaimer: KMH or MPH? I can't remebmer! LMFAO biggrin.gif

Jeff TT,

I used to agree with you until someone here posted a link to an Italian web site.

Someone was having some fun in an F40, 180MPH kind of fun. He hit a Fiat uno. They showed a picture of the pile of pieces they managed to find of the Uno driver.

It took me ages after seeing that before I broke the ton again. Just ask yourself, with closing speeds around 100Mph can you really blame someone for not seeing you coming?

Phil.

Tim,

The Techtom won't necessarily be any more accurate than the speedo. All it's working on is the speed that the ECU calculates from the gearbox, taking into account gear ratios, wheel and tyre sizes etc. If everything is standard then it should be within say 10% at certain speeds and maybe even dead accurate at others. However, tyre wear WILL affect this and if you have a calculator and a few minutes you can work out by how much. My Techtom agrees EXACTLY with the clock, as it should - the clock is only displaying the number of pulses from the ECU using an analog meter rather than a digital display. However, when I compare the speedo with my GPS there is a difference. Can't rememer exactly how much, but I recollect the speedo being around 3mph faster in the 50-70 range and up to about 5mph whe it's nearer 100mph. To compare accurately, without a helpful passenger, I suppose you could compare the tracklog of the GPS against the data logging of the traction control. (In fact this is how we set up the TC on my mates MR2 - because we didn't know the number of pulses from the wheel speed sensors, we found the accurate speed from a GPS, got the number of pulses per sec from the TC, worked out the distance travelled, no of wheel rotations etc and therefore had the number of pulses per revolution. Easy!)

It may be possible to 'correct' your speedo to match the Techtom display.

While not condoning anybody who drives like an ass I am concerned that in devolved Scotland they are considering a request from the police (I think) to enable them to confiscate seriously modified cars, apparently on the basis nobody should be allowed to modify as they like! Maybe aimed at the V hot hatches. But I am also sure they want to avoid the US phenomenon of illegal street race culture and cars they just cant catch! Still they can always go and wait outside your house for you coming home.

I went up to 270 Km butI had to slow down and change direction because I was caught by a police radar block. smile.gif

I didnt get caught. It was night and they only say my head/rear lights. smile.gif

The speed is recorded on my Blitz SBC-ID and multispeed turbo timer.

Scotland? Only Hot Hatches that come out of there are from chickens arses laying eggs! ROFL biggrin.gif

I know what you're saying though Willie(where's Ethel???) about them trying to stop people from modding. But you do that and then the culture goes even further underground and the kids become more determined! Not to mention that Johnny would have to get a part time cleaning job ROFLMFFFFAAAOOOO biggrin.gif

Cheers for that Mr. P! Now my noodle is well and truly baked...LOL biggrin.gif

Your right about the z32 being limited to 155 mph, I remember when I owned my modded 300 bhp z31 turbo, I was racing a z32 we were level neck and neck up until 150 then I shot past him and I leveled off at 165 leaving him in the distance.

Going to get an SE chip quicktime on my z32 can't be held up at 155!!
