Good evening guys! thought someone whos done this may be able to help!!

 

Just bought all bits for plenum pull, oil coming out between gearbox and sump so gona try pcv's before changing seal! got quite far in two hours,

 

Disconnected fuel rail :headvswal , balance bar, coil packs, injectors, vac hoses, throttle bodies :headvswal , acc. cable, now taken out the 8 fixings that hold down the plenum!

 

This is where im stuck, i thought id be able to lift the plenum now or at least move it, anyone know what ive got left to do before i can lift it, ive posted pics of progress, any help appreciated!!!

Hi Craig,

 

The plenum has a rubber-leafed gasket holding into down against the lower plenum so might be well stuck. Push / pull on one side and it should come free.

Pcvs can be done without removing the plenum bud

yeah i know bud, but also wanted to get at that bugger piece of fuel line at front and put some jube clips on it! cheerz tho!!

 

WillyEd ive tried to pull the plenum from the top but i nearly pulled my plums out! i havnt tried twisting it side to side yet but it did feel pretty solid!! should i try tapping it with a rubber mallet :smash:

Have you undone the plate on each side of the plenum which holds the plenum to each cylinder head? (Looking in the side-view picture it looks like one of them is still there...) If so try pushing down on one side rather that twisting side-to-side. Let me know how you get on....
