I have seen this zed listed with engine damaged due to owner putting in normal unleaded fuel ? :shock:

Yeah, obviously haven't read the owners manual which clearly states that Octane 95 and above is just fine, and that for short periods if nothing else is available Octane 92 is OK as long as you drive gently.

Even with my very limited knowledge of anything mechanical...this sounds an unlikely cause!!!!

 

Now if they had put diesel in...but noone would be dumb enough to put diesel in a zed??? Or would they??? Maybe a woman.....

Low octane petrol would not cause it to sieze. It sounds like it had a water leak and overheated, or perhaps the fan (viscous coupled) was not working. Ive used tank fulls of ordinary unleaded, steamed the ass of it without any probs.

They may know exactly whats wrong with it. It doesn't take much to 'play the innocent party' in this sort of situation. I'm sure someone will get a bargain though! :D
