soory guys ignore the signature picture iwas in my tt.

It is the cat overheat warning light, probably fuel being dumped into the exhaust casuing it to overheat and also black smoke, causes could be it not firing on one cylinder due to bad electrical connection etc.

deffo sounds like it dropped a cylinder check all connector to the coilpacks ect clean them and also check wiring to the ptu.

good luck

cheers guys thought it could have been something really bad, maybe ill make thurrock on sunday after all ,first rounds on me!

Start by cleaning all the connectors you can find, they could all probably do with a clean even if its not the problem. A lot of the connectors get broken as well due to the heat, they go brittle and this can make them work loose at revs and cause an intermitten problem, best solution there is to solder in new connectors, happy hunting bud.
