Timmy you junior LOL!

Cheers m8 - sure hope they do!

Right now the alarm has to stay in valet mode all the time (outside, the rain sets it off - probably where it drips into the cabin), and in the garage, opening the garage door sets it off!

Stu, you big ponce :P tongue.gif and double tongue.gif

If I took the roof off mine it'd be full of water in 5 mins, still I could have a bath !

It was a nice drive and I even managed to give her a wash too.

Not a bad day wink.gif biggrin.gif

aaronjb,

I think you may have a clifford allarm.

You do not need to leave the car in valet mode...

you have the 3 press combo (like a playstation fighting game) to deactivate just the outside(perimeter) allarm... this still keeps the car allarmed if someone tries to get inside.. and doors are properly locked...

Twice the small button on the side... and one press of the big button... you will see indicators will flash ones...

I often have to use this combothingy if it is too windy or if it rains...

AND one more thing... yes the allarm chirps off if you open the garage door.... all you need to do is to push the button before opening the door of you garage smile.gif

Manic - you're right I have a Clifford.. The external proximity sensor isn't actually hooked up any more (it went barmy, going off constantly), so it's just the interior sensor..

I think the water dripping is setting it off perhaps..

Of all the people I know with Clifford alarms, none have been any good. They always have trouble. The alarm has lots of features but its no good if it always goes off. I think there too clever for their own good, and some of it is down to installation quality.

Stay with simple alarms such as META, SIGMA, and Laserline. These all have CAT1 versions.

I've got a lazerline in my car. It goes off all the time. I didn't get any documentation with the car so I don't even know which one it is. How do I start trouble shooting it?

Thanks,

Phil.

Leigh, it's funny you should say that. I went into a local car audio place round here and the lad that I spoke to said the same thing!

Cliffords just false alarm to often etc.

He recommended SIGMA and some South African jobby...Blue summat! Which was a blinder and both at a fraction of the cost.

I have a META. M36-M99 CAT1.

And I am happy with it, it has only gone off 2 twice. But it didnt go off when my door handle was broken and the LACK of extras is disapointing. There is no panic alarm so you can frighten kids away from your car when they are using it as a goalpost. mad.gif

I had the META M36-T2 Immobiliser on the car when I bought it and I put the META T99 alarm on making it CAT1. The alarm cost me £225. I wanted a proximoty alarm on it, but there are no extras you can have on it.

I spoke to Bob and he does a Toad CAT1 for around £250 ish which is a very good system, had I known it was that much I would have got one of those, but the Toad site says cost is aprox £450.

However the META does its job, it even allows me to keep the roof off and set the alarm, you keep the button held down until it flashes 3 times and car is alarmed but the internal sensors are off.

If any one is wanting an alarm I suggest speak to Bob.

I've got a Serpi Star and it's been as near to perfect in three years as it could get. I reckon 50% of the reliability of these devices is down to the fitters. Not just because some do shoddy work, but because the the ones that care don't install shoddy kit.

I have a toad ai606 which is purrfectly behaved.

I can also second talking to Bob, he got me a Snooper S5 for £220 when then RRP was £400.

Top bloke - especially with alarms.
