OK, i am thinking about changing my car to a completely different colour, i just dont know what to go for.

I might even stick to blue but i dont want the horrible blue colour it is now.

Dont.

Reason... Devalues the car unless you strip to a shell and do it properly. Engine bay inner door shuts boot area etc.

And before anyone jumps on me... just go and ask a used car dealer about the subject of altered colours vs resale values.

Normally, yes, absolutely correct. But on a car like the 300zx....a respray to a more appealing colour would only increase value (that is based on the inner door shuts, boot area..etc being done, I dont think anyone would respray without having that done. Can get away with engine bay if original colour black(maybe dark blue)..otherwise its engine out too)

It is horrible, is dirty after a day no matter how much i wash it :headvswal

Its quite a rare, sought after colour. A Good clean and polish/Wax and I bet it comes up lovely.

As for hard to keep clean colours, black is the worst :(

spend the money on getting the car running properly first!

I can't really afford anything extreme, i just want a nice ass colour

pinky/white????

my advice would be ask to see the colour cards, pick out your favourite five, ask for sample cards with the paint actually on them, then take them away and see how many times you can change your mind. then go for something dead unique

mate,

im feeling the same, i too think the colour is shite but then i think, i should fit a full bodykit to it and mayby get some bigger and better wheels and then decide if the car looks good with the kit, or without. first mod for me now i the 99spec rear lights.

If there is a TVR dealer near you why not go round there and look at some of the colours on the cars, it will give you a much better idea of how it will look than a colour chip. Or find some websites with similar cars on and look. I only picked TVR as to me they have some of the nicest colours. But picking something origional is the way to go. :)

This is the colour for domestic appliances:tongue:

cheeky fooker, no more free plumbing advice for you lol  :nana2:

Don't paint it the same colour as mine.

I had mine change to be different. Then Mike Feeney went and painted his the same colour then Toulaqouc then Chris GetGReddy and now everywhere I go I'm surounded by Z's the same colour.

So what ever colour you change it to just keep schtum and leave the picture of your car as it is on the forum. People even say now I like the Z's in the blue that your car is but not that other blue. They never made Z's in the colour mine and everyone elses is

go for the red oxide look. i did and it made mine much faster

yeah but it didnt do much for your BHP readout did it lol  :smash:

Yours looks completely different colour to Chris's, much darker than Cosworth blue, or is just that pic in you sig ?

Mine is the same colour, but it is very slightly lighter than Chris's as it has a larger grade metal flake. + it's got 3 years of weathering.

The colour is called Ford imperial blue not Coswerth Blue and eas first used on Mustangs in the states. I don't really mind because it is a class colour and Z's just look better in Blue   :slap:
