Just wanted to know what i do about this greyish glue kinda stuff shown in the pic

I really wanna remove most of it and replace it with new stuff but dont know what it is........anyone got any ideas about what needs to be done

Also im worried about condensation when i put them back together again.........can anything be done to prevent this and how

Cheers for any help

Leave the grey stuff on mate but just use a automotive and caravan sealent as well if neccasary. Use silica gell bags to prevent condensation inside the light units the type you get with new shoes. HTH

Easy - go to your local shoe shop and ask for a couple of little bags.

Thinking of taking my headlights apart. Why do you need the silica bags? Apart from the obvious to remove damp. The back of the headlights is open anyway, so surely as long as there is no damp in the headlights before fitting the rear seals there is no need for the silica bags.

Believe me mate you will definatly need the bags :) You can try it without but you will wish you stuck them in.

So do you leave the bags in permanently or just to absorb any damp inside, as a temporary fix.
