Stuttering..

Hi,

I noticed that my Zed is missfiring/stuttering a bit when I plant my foot. It's also running a bit rich. And I noticed today that it also gave out a bit of a burning smell when I booted it?!? Any ideas why this is happening?

Cheers, Bart..

Stuttering is normally a nervous affliction, quite often exacerbated by unfamiliar people or situations. Once it gets to know you, you should be able to have relatively stutter free conversations - i know i do with my zed.

As for running rich - just reduce its pocket money

ner..ner..ner..nice one ;)

Oh man ! How come my zed don't talk ? I constanty talk to it but it never talks back. Is it because its an import ? If mine stuttered then I would take it to a speech therapist.

I can see where this is going..

 Learn japanese ;)

Overfuelling can cause the hesitation. Most common cause of overfuelling is o2 sensors, temp sensor, fuel dampner or failing coilpacks/harness connection.

Hesitation could also be TPS adjustment, ditry throttle valves, out of sync, throttle valves....or numerous other less common faults. Try them first.

Temp sensor is new, as is the TPS which is bang on adgustment wise. runs fine until you really boot it. Could be O2 sensors. I'll need to get Datascan I think.. I'll go over the coil packs. Is there any way of testing them??

it can also happen when the air filter is wet (if you havnt got the std air box) it confuses the MAF. or you might have a dodgy plug breaking down under boost. theres a heap of things that could be wrong, fortunatley most are simple and cheap fixes. check all the vacuum hoses for leaks too.

I'll start looking, thanks guys. Will it ever end......................................

when mine started spluttering and overfueling it was a dodgey AFM
