A couple of things to look out for if you are looking at a modified car:

If something like the boost has been increased on the car, check that the correct chip has been installed, ie not a jap fuel chip (JWT, Nisstek, plus others are good). An imported car with upped boost running on a jap chip (car expects 100ron in most cases) could cause unwanted damage to the engine, always a good thing to check.

Make sure that any modifications done have been fitted properly. I personally would only buy a modified car if it was from someone from the owners club. Shows that someone has cared for the car and generally speaking, guys in OCs only modify the car to its benefit, compared to other people.

If you are looking for a great car, fast, reliable and good looking then this is the one to go for. But depending on wether the car is a daily driver or not, check that you can run, maintain and modify the car within the amount of money you are prepared to spend the car.

At the end of the day, the 300zx is a wonderful car, but is pretty expensive to run, as with most big engine performance cars. Not trying to put you off.

Hope you buy a Z,
