I'm trying a minimum of 3 times a week, I'm pretty much sticking to that. I hate it, it bores me. But I feel really good and pumped up after. Just done a 2hr session. Mainly on the cross trainer. But some evenings, I find I can't last much more than half an hour.

I felt like that initially tonight, but suddenly, I found reserves of energy, not sure where from and I didn't want to leave. No one was in there either, so wacked on a 'choice' CD and just went mad for a while.

Anyone else find this? Must be a combination of mental state, surroundings and getting past that 'barrier'. :smash:

i live at the gym

whats a gym for? I got a bike outside which i ride every day, i love riding past the gym down the road and looking at all the suckers behind the big glass 'look at me!' frontage pedalling away on their silly excersize bikes, maybe they're not man enough to take the cold or something? :p

I think just a bike doesn't always get you where you want to be. When I was 15-18 years old I cycled at least 100 miles per week, including 50 on a Sunday club run. And I was still a fat lad. Took to the gym when I got to uni, 3 times a week, and despite drinking my own bodyweight in booze for the other 4 days a week I soon turned from pear shape (with fooking good legs) into some semblance of a triangle.

I don't go to the gym for aerobic, that's just sooo boring, but weights are a different matter.

well it all depends, if im training for a fight then i train 3 times a day for 4 days a week, if its just body building then twice a day for 6 times a week, swim/run in the morning, then weights at night.

if nothing then one big session every day just keeping fit.

Whats a Gym ? :duffer:

I have heard of these short for gymnasium AFAIK for excersise and stuff. Stuff that. A pint every 10 minutes or so sould do it and keep changig arms to even i out

I don't 'want to be' anywhere, I just ride for fun, it just happens to involve excersize.

Maybe you were never a fat lad. Concentrates the mind.

3 times a week at the moment as I missing out legs because I had a bit of surgery last week. It bores me though and always has, it's only vanity that keeps me going there!

4 times at the moment,

its good stress relief, although my new gym is to busy, when i get my new place i want to put a sqaut rack and bench in spare room,

4 times a weeks, been at it for nearly 10 years now!

The selection of gym can help, I've trained in loads of 'spit a sawdust' gyms over the years with little to look at apart from oversized men. Not good!

The gym I use now is more of a fitness sweet with excellent machines. All the cardio equipment has built in TV's with tons of channels to chose from. Just need to plug your headpnones into the machine. more of a mixed ratio aswell!

You are right about the barrier though, usually after 12 mins of hard cardio the pain seems to lessen and i get into it more!

Andy

Went once, about 5 years ago, made you go outside to smoke and only served water.

Plus all the stuff was dead heavy!!

Anyway im happy being an 8 stone wimp!!!

I do weights and sit-ups at home every night, then go for a run twice a week... I've gone from 14 Stone down to 12 Stone in a year and wanna keep it that way!!!! Although I eat healthly apart from a Keebab every Fri night after the pub and on the beer at weekends in doing regular exercise it keeps it all at bay!!

Don't do the gym - but I walk loads and cycle 15 miles a day to/from work :)

every single day........and tonight alone was well worth the trip just to watch some mard arse woman see her arse over the twins and an aussie bloke all using the running machines for no more than 40 mins.......she was proper moaning her head off asking them to let other people on even though when the guy let her on she was only on 10mins

you really need to se the twins though both identical and both are real stunners

I went and joined Fitness First. God how boring. Full of posers worying about how fat they look and disgussing the new in fad eaty-drinky gain more muscle.

Tossers.

Then after I cancel the fooking place is after more money from me and are threatening a debt recovery agency for £40.
