Really want it back as when I bought it, just over 2 months ago,

she recently had a re-con auto box, 2 new turbos and a few other hefty bills on her. Some one has also fitted a leather interior !!

Only needs another rear bumper, and a repair to the back panel. Not even a broken rear light !

Have to wait and see what they come up with. Just removed the Cats and fitted 2 stainless steel back boxes 2 nights before the accident !

Alan.........

i've just been thru something similar alan, if u need to talk about how "difficult" insurance companies can be pm me and i'll ring ya...

when the assessor comes find out what category write off it is...

cat A and u wont get it back (altho only usually for burnt out or flooded out cars)

cat B (as my skyline was) and u wont get it back if ur with direct line, but may if ur insured with others...

cat C & D and u will probably be allowed to buy it back..

cat A & B means that the car (shell and chassis) has to be destroyed i think...

if i were you, and you can, i'd go "salvage some personal belongings" if you cant buy it back.. you are well within your rights to go get any personal stuff out, like ICE and stuff...

they wouldnt let me have my skyline back, so i went down and "liberated" some of the undeclared goodies that were on it.. the engine is now up for sale for 750 at the scrappers, i wonder if they realise it hasnt got any coils, ignition amp, plugs and ECU in it yet.. lol..

surely they have to allow you to buy the car back.

express that you want to dispose of the car yourself or something.

She was insured under a Classic & Collectors policy, with the right to retain the salvage in the worse case scenario. So should be able to get her back.

Already been on to them to make sure she is put in the lightest category for write offs there is. My mate bought his back and had to go to a VOSA testing station where they really went to town on it. Was a first class repair though, so it sailed through.

Car still drives ok, and it is sitting up my drive, not in some dodgy yard that charges an arm and a leg for storage !

glad you have it sorted. at least it will release some cash to sort any niggly problems with it and repair the damage of course.

Alan, for your information, here are two pictures of a zed that had similar if not more damage than yours, the back panel was very badly damaged, however it was repairable, and by using 2nd hand lights and bumper and even with painting the repair was about £700:00, just gives you an idea what your up against and you WILL be able to repair it.

Sorry to hear of the bump Alan, I just went through all that crap as well, a woman rammed into the drivers side took out the door and the front wing I was sure they were gonna write it off.

the woman accepted the blame her insurers contacted me and told me that they would send an assesor but even if it wasnt deemed repairable I would still get to keep the car PLUS they would give me full market value cha ching :) :) :)

Assesor came out and said the cars worth saving  , so instead of me getting to repair it plus have extra for some bling it went into a vauxhall dealer for repairs using brand new parts and shoddy workmanship :( :(

Ahh well cant win them all. hope you get yours fixed out ok

Someone had to start it so it may aswell be me.

In true vulture like style i see its red, and the spoiler looks in good nick!!!

Oooh, leather too!!!!! :x: :x:

Alan, try and get money from them to repair it yourself. I know a few people who have done this. Every time you will get more cash than is needed to repair it.

im with ya bud its just happend to me too ffs i just hope i can keep the car!!
