Andy P - Legend

Another thanks thread from me as he has basically saved me from blowing my engine up. After receiving advice from him to upgrade to a suitable ECU chip he said I should do so.

After taking it apart I found that it had a "Data Systems - Hiper" chip. This has been reported previously as only suitable for Jap cars running 100 ron fuel.

So thanks again Andy for the advice and cheap and fast service. :duffer:

I'm having a new chip fitted this weekend all going to plan. Mine is still running JDM fueling. Although I don't drive it hard, the boost has been increased to circa 14PSi. Taking it to John Dixon's.

I am kinda shitting myself. But the car's not had much use and any hard use has been in very short spurts.

Yeah mines is still on standard boost, it will be getting increased once I have the chip. Not sure on electronic boost controller or boost jets.

I've got boost jets....but as I've read, they are not the best thing. Mine runs fine with them and when it does come on boost, it's very strong.

Going to drive it all the way to Dave's off boost as much as I can.....after reading that thread, it's given me the heeby jeebies.

Boost jets are fine as long as they're setup right. At least with these there's no temptation to fiddle like there is a with a boost controller !

Thats one of the reasons why I am getting them, but the main being that I will save myself some money for now as I should really be spending it on a house and holiday.
