For more than a year now, we have had a terrible thing hanging over us,

One of my best mates was killed a year last october while on his motorbike, by a drunk driver.

The driver however, happened to be a top television executive, with an awful amount of power, and money.....

at the accident, my mate was killed out right, and his bike exploded on impact, the driver did a runner, and only handed himself in the next day.

The headlines of the accident are here clicky

After a long and stressfull 15 months, today saw a returned GUILTY verdict at swansea crown court for causing death by dangerous driving.

It's a very strange feeling today, not the big weight lifting feeling we expected.

Daz was 24, far too young.

but, its good to see that justice, does SOMETIMES happen

Its good to see the guilty verdict bud, I just hope when passing sentence the punishment fits the crime. I know accidents happen but to drive off is beyond me

Glad justice was done.

I'm sure it'll be another step towards you and his other loved ones having 'closure' on it while remebering the good time you had with him too.

As said on the phone martin, Im really glad that the guilty charge has been chosen!

My thoughts are with You and Daz's family still.

Rich

cheers guys...

lets hope it stops the c0ck from drink driving again....

:xxx: will drive again mart they always do bastood should get life they should say no drink at all if your driving the verdict is worthy thoughts are with you and daz,s family mucker

Good to hear bud!-It was just this kind of dick head that made me give up on the bikes :( -hope he gets what he deserves!

Send him over to us..........we'l make sure he shares a cell with someone nice and decent............

Good to see justice was served

How the **** anyone could leave the scene of an accident knowing someone’s been killed or injured is beyond me. I hope you and his family can have a bit of closure now.

Wait and see what the judge gives him. I see it all the time with Irish judges, If you are "respectable" they tend to be lenient towards sentencing. He'll probably get banned for a few years and recieve a SUSPENDED SENTENCE where no jail time is involved!!! Being a big shot he'll get a driver assigned to him and it will have very little impact on the B******. I hope i'm wrong

Glad you got a result, on this occassion British Justice worked (which it didn't for Z evo guy), lets hope he gets a good long sentence, to leave the scene of accident is indefendisble. Hope you know have some closure on this and can go forward.

My thoughts are with you

im sure he will be out in 18 months and happy while you will miss your mate and his family will mourn there son for a life time like i lost my son in a car accident thinkin of you all

  • 1 month later...

yep, he actually appealled against his guilty verdict, but was still found guilty, 3 years, out in what?

If it's like the Irish justice system he'll get a quarter remission off for good behaviour so thats 2 years and 3 months. Thats if none of it was suspended .
