I felt the same when I tried to do it. Eventually after a lot of force and bending a wee bit. I was getting impatient though ans surely there is a better way.

pull the bugger as hard as you can - just dont take the rest of the car with it! if youre upgrading to a cone filter then you can get the hammer and saw out ;) :rofl: just make sure youve got the right filter first!

Sorted at last. Lots of twisting and bending (and undoing the 2 bolts under the front bit, :mac1: ).

Once the bolts are out, drill out the rivets holding the two halves together. Come out easily then.
