I have a 1994 TT Auto with Apexi filter otherwise its stock.

When the car is parked at home it is in quite an exposed position for the wind etc. On a number of occasions when there has been heavy rain overnight, when i drive the care it has a missfire. It clears after about 10 miles. And I have never had the problem unless it has rained overnight.

My question is has anyone else had this problem? I cannot figure out where it could possibly be getting wet to give this problem and why it always clears after 10-15 minites... Thanks for any advice...

im sure a few have this problem, and its the MAF getting wet, try parking facing uphill someone said if i remember, or making a cover for it mate

Its a common problem bud

Take your apexi off, dry it out with a hairdryer or similar put it back on, and it'll make things alot better.

as T-pot says, see if your car has the nessacery splash gurds in place aswell

The splash guard is in place below the filter but none above and the panel between the headlights is vented, is there anything I can spray on to keep the water out? Waterproofer? I assume the missfire goes away as the wind drys it out.....

Its best to just take the filter off, give it a good dry out and clean, just keep doing that every now and again bud

All the best
