All is ok except a few things.

The clutch is gone, which I knew about and he knocked £500 off to get that done, so thats ok. Was a bitch to drive home cause it just slipped if you werent too careful on the throttle.

Whats really annoying is that the fooking drivers side lock barrel just spins and doesnt unlock the door. The alarm isnt wired up to the central locking so the only way in is to unlock the passenger side and lean over to undo it. Any idea if I can take the door card off and sort it or get someone to do it for me, prices?!?!?!?

Also the oil pressure, once it was on 4 but then other times it dropped and sat on the lower line (no number) Engine didnt blow up so I guess its ok.

The gear lever wobbles side to side a bit, but hes given me a procedure from the net on how to fix that.

As i've red, the lights do suck in the dark, they need sorting!!!!

Apart from that everything else seems ok for now!!!!!!!! :hyper:

Cant wait to get clutch sorted and give it a good boot full!!

congrats!

changed the clutch on an N/A once, PITA it is! so good luck with that :)

My drivers door is the same, i think it's a common problem.. just bit if plastic that gets brittle and breaks. I made up a small replacement and it works great.. just make something up yourself or you can use the passenger side one i think, too.

My old N/A used to have the same oil pressure problem, just a dodgy sensor i think, again a common problem as far as i know.

My lights suck in the dark too.. need an HID conversion or summit.

Anyway any pics?

good on ya buddy, if you use the search bar about oil pressure you will find some interesting reading about it and that stock one is a bit like the boost..........a bit crap so dont take what it says as gospel but wherever you get the clutch done get an oil change done as well. The lock i dont know buddy i have had door cards off to fit speakers but never looked but get the alarm sorted just for your own peace of mind. Hope this helps !!

Sorry no pics, dark when I got in.

How do I get to the door lock problem, i dont a few searches on here but noone actually says how to get in there, just remove the handle?!?!?

practically completely remove the door card it's all pretty easy, then take two bolts out that hold the door handle in place and you can do it all from there basically.. you'll see the rod hanging down that's come off. Just got to use your creativity to connect the rod to the lock. Mine was very simple

Think there's a few write ups on other sites and i'm sure there's a few posts about it on here too.

When i had my alarm fitted the guy had to fit a motor to the passenger door for it to open with the alarm. He said that was the case for most older cars.It cost an extra £40 on top of the alarm.
