....the simplist of things. But what am I doing wrong? First time I've taken any of the interior appart.

Have taken the small trim tabs off and unscrewed all 4 screws. The top comes out, but the bottom doesn't seem to want to pop off.

I don't want to be too brutal with it... ?!IU^%R&^%" :x:

Oooh nice. I'll be replacing the rubber inner gaitors too as mine's perished. Can kinda hear tx noises. But it's going to have a load of work done on it next weekend, new main seal, gearbox oil, diff oil, prop shaft bearings and PCV hoses, so it should come back a little less fragile. :)

:nelson: @ Graham! ;)

Is there a nack to getting those two small brown bushes in the base of the lever????

  • Author

I am and I can't get the ****ing bushes in the hole. It's getting dark now and I'm ****ing pissed right off. ****ing shit design, can't even take the lever out as Nissan thought it would be wise to put one bolt facing down. What a load of ****ing *****cks!!!!!!

  • Author

For **** sake this peice of ****ing shit I h****ing hate it, now the ****ing bar's gone down the hole and I can't ****ing see it! **** SAKEEEEEEEEEE!!!!

  • Author

No, the lever is still in the centre thing. There are two bolts securing it to that, one that you can unbolt from the top and one Nissan decided to put underneath which you can't get ****ing hold of.

There are no bushes in the hole, nothing there what so ever.

I am absolutely ****ing fuming at the moment, I was so close to booting the door in right now. Now the car is ****ing imobile and I can't do a ****ing thing about it. ****ing *****cks.

  • Author

If you were a pixie, then I'm sure you can. I sure as hell can't get to it. Also, because it's underneath, it's corroded, so it's ****ing seized.

  • Author

**** it, I am just going to wrap the central spar in insulation tape and ram it through. I simply can't get to that bolt. I've spent two hours on that, my hands are cut to shreds. I am seriously ****ed off with it now.

its probably im used to fooking about with things like this.

have you got fat fingers (joke) i know it was the hardest part of the job for me but i has a ring spanner with a slight angled head which fitted just right!

spray some wd40 on it allow to penitrate have a cup of tea and then approach it with a clear head.

  • Author

I sprayed WD40, it was the first thing I did. The head to the nut is now rounded, no I have very slim fingers.

It really is the worst design for anything I think I've come across. More so than metal teapots. Absolute ****ing joke...WHY PUT THE NUT THE OTHER WAY??????

  • Author

It's ok. Just a really pointless excersise from Nissan there. It's a 5 minute job....litterally, without that stupid bolt. Why having it facing upside down????

it is a pain. but it is more accessable from the underside.

have you got any small mole grips now that it is rounded off!

  • Author

I have got mole grips, but if it's that rounded/seized, they are just going to make it worse.

I've done lots of work on cars. I shoe horned a V6 engine into my last car (Astra), so it's not like I don't know what I'm doing, but this is by far and away the most pitiful and ridiculous piece of shite I've EVER come across.
