Would like to replace the speedo cluster etc. with the after market white/blue glow dials. Has anyone fitted them before ? If yes how hard/easy is it to install ? Unfortunately there seems to be no fitting instructions with these gadgets hence the cry for help. Do I need to take the steering wheel out for the cluster to come out or is there enough clearance with the steering on ? I am worried also about wiring them up for the glow as haven't got a clueeeeeeeee on electricals.

Finally if its not worth the hassle then please let me know and I'll never mention this again !

Regards

Sy.

Deffo worth the hassle mate!-if you can call it hassle!

Can be done with wheel on but personally I would remove it for ease!

As for the dials-DO NOT remove the needles!-slip the indiglows over them ;)

Here's one.......http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=58499

Guys

Any of you got needle drag........what...needle drag

You know where the Indiglow dial is not glued down really tight and so

the Rev counter and Speedo needles drag on the indiglow dial face.

What im trying to find out is does anyone know how to cure this problem and how dd you get the glue on to the surface and what type of glue ???

Im thinking a light glue in a syringe but glue down a syringe ...sticky.

Or shall I get me coat ??

Double-sided tape. ;)

I had to take mine back out as neddles rubbing on dial faces with double-sided tape.

Took the tape off and re-fitted with contact ad. no probs since.

i used spray mount for mine and no probs, Sy if you need any help i'm just up the A10

theres a thread somewhere which shows you how to , ,, look for it in search , bud ,

my clocks are 180mph, the reverse dials on EBAY are 160mph, I ain't paying £120.00 for the real ones so I want the cheaper ones from EBAY, i've read loads on this subject, still confused about fitting a resistor to re-calibrate the clock to 160mph !!!

Has anyone done it ??

How do you do it ( fitting the resistor - which type of resistor, etc...) any instructions anyone.....

I've just changed all my bulbs and LED's in the dash and clock and it doesn't look as good as I hoped, so i'm going to have the indiglo ones instead.....

thanks

Andy.....

I stuck mine down using 3M re-fix tape , its basically a sticky glue on a backing , pull the backing off and only the glues left behind , if not that then i would have used carpet tape as its very thin and won,t make the needle,s catch the faces .

Ooh by the way , theres no need to remove the steering wheel !! :hyper:

Used double-sided stickey tape on mine. No probs.

Do not use double-sided STICKEY PADS though!!

They will jam the needles LOL.

  • 2 weeks later...

To get round needle drag I held the instrument shaft tight with a pair of needle nose pliers and "waggled" the pointer a millimetre or 2 further up the shaft.

Also used double sided tape to keep the new dials flat.
