Can't argue with that, as I said £18k in warranty work on mine.

so would anyone swap there zed for one ??

*their*

Yup. They are worth about £12k+ for a good one, raising to over £20k for a low mileage mint example. They are quicker than a Zed too.

I do still love my Zed though.

yes, to sell it and buy another zed and have all that profit

believe me it as far from a Carlton as a 300zx is from a micra.

Did'nt realise Zed's were Tuned Micra's, with a Turbocharged reworked Micra engine, Micra chassis, Micra body and micra interior ;)

micra interior ;)

I'd say that's not far off. Tweed and micra indicator stalk.......nnniiiiiccceeeeeeee

LOL.....although Micra's never had tweed or the same indicator stalk (to my knowledge) .....zed owners were the only lucky ones there :(

Wicked! I'll hack it off and cellotape a twiglet in place. Might look better then!

The barmaid in my former local (Shaws arms, Preston) got killed by a Lotus Carlton back in 1993. The pr1ck was racing a Golf GTI FFS, it took them over 2 years to convict the tw@t. The car was rebuilt but soon after the garage it was kept in set on fire and the car is no more. Probably best really.

My dad had a nice but non-running Lotus Carlton sitting in his yard for a few months and some Pikeys came and offered him £50 to take it away - he agreed!!! I don't think he realised what it really was and what it was worth!

This isn't true

I was showing off

yep and MAC1, the chairman of the club has just said that anyone bringing up old threads without a good reason will be on holiday for 6 months if you know what i mean

I need a holiday! LOL

Always loved these cars.

I remember seeing one in London years ago and my mate pulled alongside at the lights in his Renault 19 16v and gave it some revs LOL

The race was on.... but not for long!

It left us standing in a cloud of tyre smoke never to be seen again LOL

Don't think I'd ever seen anything so quick at the time.

I love carltons i think they are great Daily Drivers. Ive owned 4 carltons (1 x 2.0 Estate, 1 x 2.0 Diplomat & 2 x 2.6 Diplomat) Plus 1 12v Senator and 1 24v Ex-police Manual Senator.

I drive my Carlton current 2.6 dippy everyday and even though I have my Zed back i find i still drive the carlton most of the time.

Anybody looking for a GSI24v Auto, i know a nice one going for £450.00 atm which is an absolute bargain

The Lotus ones have a worse tin worm problem than the std ones as the bodykit is a bad water trap.

Theres a guy who works near me has got one, he says he's had it 3yrs, never

seen another one on the road in all that time! Apparantly the gearboxes are

made of cheese!
