jeez...feel sorry for the family but must be tough for you too bud...

Mate, although I feel sympathy for what this persons family are probably facing, I also really feel for you...What happened was tragic, by the sounds of it there was nothing else you could have possibly done to change the outcome.

What happened would leave most people in a complete state of shock, so take some time out, and talk to your friends and family for support...Kind regards.

thanks for the support guys , the local police are coming to site now to interview all involved ........unfortunately because im not a doctor i could be charged with "interference in medical matters" because i dont hold a license to practice medicine of any kind ........what a mess..........if im not locked up i will be sinking a few cognacs tonight in his memory ..apparently he was only 40 years old ...spoke to my wife, she was her usual lighthouse in a storm ....im glad i have her, i am due to go home to uk on wednesday but i might be stopped from leaving the country , ive been here 5 weeks over xmas and new year and have missed my 3 kids ..dont know what i will do if they blame me.........

it's mad when you cannot try to help someone in need of first aid for fear of being either sued or blamed in some way...

What do we do, just leave them until the paramedics arrive? Fookin silly if you ask me...if you had saved him I am sure he would have had a say in it...

well done for at least trying to help, but you must think of yourself and your family now - get in touch with the embassy for advice, before you speak to the police.

well first off mate you were an absolute saint to do what you did. i wouldnt have had the balls to do that - i dont know what i would have done. its a real stinker about that interference in medical matters rubbish - if the worst comes to the worst im sure our government would be able to put in a kind word. and dont feel useless - if he was bleeding internally like that i dont think there was much anyone could have done without being in an operating theatre. good on ya.

You did the right thing. I would hhave done the same. I just hope they see that.

Good luck hope all goes well for you & you get home safe.

All the best...Chin up M8.

Have you had yourself checked out by a Doctor? Otherwise, if you gave him mouth-to-mouth, how do you know you haven't caught anything off him?

good advice,

chin up bud, it is a pretty traumatic experience. no matter how you feel, get some friends around you, theres no better counselling than a good old pisstaking.

hope all goes well with the embassy, as said, get them involved before you talk to the police. fookin ******* 'sue or be sued' lifestyle is becoming worldwide now

Gutted for you mate, and good job for stepping in. Like Rich says, you need to get in touch with the embassy immediately if you haven't done so already. They should be able to clear some of this up for you. Can't believe the police are even thinking of charging you for this.

Ditto,

Well done on stepping in bud, I hope all sorts itself out for you.
