Driving along the road tonight and i feel play starting increase on the clutch pedal and less resistance.. eventually not being able to fully disengage the clutch..

so checked the reservoir and it's empty, fill it up and the clutch gets a bit better, pump it a few times let the air out (see bubbles in the reservoir) and that enabled me to get home ok.

The reservoir doesn't seem to be losing that much fluid although i've only left it sitting for 15 minutes since i last checked.

Doesn't appear to be any leaks from the master cylinder and i can see drips coming from under the car, behin the back of the engine i can see a drip coming from between and above two pipes at the passenger side, i can only imagine it's the slave cylinder?

wont have time to check until the weekend but would like to get one ordered for then.. just want to make sure that's more than likely what it is. it just happened all of a sudden really, well within the space of 10 minutes. :(

took my slave cylindre off today and the internals look ok, i.e. no rust or anything. I couldn't find any other leaks on the system so i'm a bit stumped really although i'm still leaning tawards the slave as the problem

i tried putting some water on top of the slaves piston and a few air bubbles came up so i'm guessing the seal is buggered? especially as that's under no pressure at all? the piston action ain't smooth either although that could be due to it being dry (got it off the car)..

what yous reckon, slave cylinder? or some other problem?

Had the same problem 2 months ago...After some searching found a very little hole in the clutch-hose (goes to the operating-cylinder).Took me 1 hour and about 24 euro...Let somebody else press the clutch, you should be able to find the leak.

Succes!

cheers,..

just had to try bleed the system myself, pita, although a block of wood comes in handy.. got some resistance in the pedal and noticed there's fluid coming from the hose that you speak of.. trying to get one made up today, braided one rather than a nissan one (wont be available til next week).
