Right thought i'd put up a very rough draft for the planned Euro trip.

Get into Cologne for 19th June spend 48 hours there taking in the England Football Beer festivle then onto the ring which is only 55 miles from Cologne

Few days around the ring then free to do what ever else, those are my basic ideas for now. If we can all agree on this then i'll start looking at the ferrys, earlier we book the cheaper it is

The Ferry is working out about £125 each return this includes a inside cabin to kip in

I spent almost that getting to Dover & back so £125 is a cracking price, we'll need to book within the next month though i'd say.

Please list your name if you want to go, no chats about anything else, keep to the topic so we get this sorted out :)

Confirmed List

1) Chris/Mac1

2) Deve8uk

3) Legrath

4) Baggins/Greg

5) Kirbz/Jonnyz32

6) Bobby Ball

7) Chris C

8) Kev6

Only 1 space left :hyper: i suggest everyone starts looking for a traveling partner to share the costs :)

yea me too although gonna have to find something to amuse myself :duffer: I fooking hate football

i will second that wat a puffs game, they get a little tackle and they cry like girls. (over paid wimps) lol

Its not a football trip, the plan is to just to have several beers and watch the 1 England game.

Amsterdam is a definate, it's our 1st port of call, then last on way back to the ferry ;)

Join in one of the cars as a passenger ? are you going to add your name then ? :D

I'm tempted but I better say 'no thanks' as the Nurburgring and footie ain't for me (although I'm sure they're both great).

No probs better see if we can get a group discount on Euro break down cover aswell :D

Look into getting breakdown cover with the german company ADAC.

This is the only breakdown people allowed to rescue a stranded car from the Ring and they will charge you E$300 (that's Euro dollars). If you are a member it is free! When we were there one of the german guys told us that it is only about E$75 for full european cover.

I already have full European cover so I haven't done it myself.

Ivan

Should be at the ring just after Easter

For those of you thinking about camping there is a very large campsite very close by. It has good facilities and costs E$10 a day (not night).

But the Ring is stuck up in the mountains and even in August last year I was bloody cold, the temp didn't get above 18C during the day.

There was plenty of room to work on the car.

Ivan

i'll definitely be up for this if there's still space left?!?

been dreaming of going to the ring for a year or so now, never been abroad (believe it or not) and i've always said if i were going a holiday it'd be to the ring, not the same old boring staring at the sun carry on!

so if there's a space left i'll defintely come along!

cheers,

kev.

I'm up for this but can't pay this month so might have to make my own arrangements later.

Got no job at the mo and after xmas and 2 months with no income I just can't afford it now.

Now full :hyper:

Chris,

Colin that'd be great, can you scout out some camp sites/hotels in the area and report back ?

;)

Chris,

No problem, I will have a look on the web here and plan to have a trip in that direction in the next couple of weeks. I can have a look at Gasthofs (small guest houses) and pensions (houses with spare rooms) and get a range of prices. I'm happy to camp so will also check out camp sites.

Will drop you a PM when I find out and also put some info on here. I'm also happy to book if necessary aswell.

Colin

Right thanks to Moggy we have found this place

Only 90 euros for a TRIPLE room works out £20 per person per night, best of all its right on the ring :hyper:

Does this look ok to everyone ? if yes i'll get us a reservation.

chris can you work out a full total price required for the trip, this is not to include food, fuel etc as this is down to us, just the pricing on ferries, any known tolls required hotel room etc.. just so there is a combined total. then we can work out what to bring to spend...

and that hotel looks good enough for me..

Just take your credit card and worry about it later! :D

Seriously, Triple or double rooms are circa 80/100 euros, ferries are £200 so work it out from that estimate bud.
