Hi all got a prob with the drivers side head light the seal has leaked and there is water inside (Condensation) ive had a quick look at removing the light but it looks a bit tricky, I also thought these where sealed units. Has anyone had this prob or no the best way to fix it?? the car also has a HID conversion i dont know if this makes any difference??

any help would be appreciated

definately not sealed as you / we can take them apart to clean the reflector and the glass on the inside

Thats good to hear i will have a play tomorrow then and see what i can do,

thanks

Once off the car they are easy to take apart, might be that when the HID was fitted the lights were taken apart to clean and not sealed again properly and also the little bag of condesation absorbing pills not replaced.

Ahh cool so if i take it apart and clean it up and put that little bag of stuff in ( i know the stuff you mean just cant think of the name) then all should be ok

many thanks

if you know of a double glazing co near you ask them for a small bag of Dessicant they put the beads in the frame of double glazing to keep them dry they buy in 20kg tubs normally throw it away if they dont use it all thats wot i done :D

that explains why mine are condensating up but there was no gel in mine when i took them apart

Silica gel is what the people who have stripped their lights normally use, as whats inside them from the manufacture is small tablets incased in a sponge which disintergrates on touch, they are normally shoved under the light unit and will not fall out untill you dismantle the light and turn it upside down.
