Mine does exactly the same. I was told that its low PAS level or poor electrical connection. Have checked level seems ok cant be arsed to check electrics yet as its to cold outside

Try the above it might be asimple fix ?

do you have an aftermarket steering wheel may have the wrong boss on it also if you still have the original steering wheel it may not be aligned properly HTH

Yes have have a momo wheel and boss on ! speedo once stuck at zero !! happened once in 6 months,, any ideas??? dont know about the boss but i think its is the correct one fits nice and snug, how would the boss annoy the hicas??

Yes fluid level fine , all wiring been checked by my mate who is nissan mechanic , hes looking into the hicas at work ,says there is not much info on the 300 at present !!

IIRC there is a sensor on the steering coloum that senses where the steering wheel is if its not centered properly it turns off the Hicas as a safety precaution HTH

should use search as its your friend...lots of info on the subject..as zxally as said you need the correct boss to make sure the hicas set up runs fine...
