Morning all, noticed my zeds starting to smoke pretty badly, if window is open and your sat in traffic you sorta start choking on the smell. Notice a puff if your boot it - throttle off then touch the accelerator again.

Im thinking its turbo seals but would that cause smoking under fairly normal driving???

If it is turbo seals - any idea on how much to get them replaced?

Cheers

could be a nuber of things Jason , have you had any exhaust mods done , de cat etc

as the lack in exhaust backpressure causes the seals to go ....its an engine out job anyway to repair them so you would probably be better off upgrading while theyre easy to get at ...

what sort of £££ is associated with swapping the seals? Any idea of other symptoms? (ie will the smoking stop when warmed up, or when driving hard?)

sorry to semi-hijack

Sort of a blue/white smoke. Seems to smoke real bad when cold when warmed up you notice the smell more.

its not the turbo seals that cost the money its taking the engine out to fix them thats the pain the arse,, well the costly bit anyways, but there is a plus to this you can ghange a few hoses do a bypass to save expensive repair bills later on in life , estimate around ,600+ just to remove engine and replace , all plus turbo seals and vat and any other additional costs , your best bet is to chat with traders or other mechanics, would recomend a few , im only answering to above as ive had exact same costs and expense last year myself,, but i added bits to it , better turbos etc, etc etc , pm me if you like can give you more info
