Hi pep, just wondering if i could get some help on this matter, im finding it very hard to find general info on my 300zx, ie lengths etc.

The problem is i need a new boot lid for my 300, its a 2 seater swb and i was wondering if a boot lid from any 300 will do to replace it?

If anyone could help or has a boot lid that would do the job i would be very grateful.

Nope, SWB/LWB are different. VERY VERY hard to get hold of a SWB bootlid.

 

You could try AndyZ or ricerocketUK in the traders section. Pretty unlikely though.

 

Whats up with yours? Can it be repaired?

The SWB and the 2+2 tailgates are a lot different, so you'll need one just for the SWB.

 

In all honesty you'll struggle to find one, but they're out there, be patient!!

oh and apparently the lenghts are

 

2+2 is 178"

 

SWB is 172.3"

how long have i been waiting for a boot lid... eh?? fook me they are like gold dust!!

if you are desperate for one then I'd imagine it woujld be fairly easy to find one in the states, theres an abundance of 2 seaters over there. Shipping could prove to be very expensive though.

On the same subject(ish).. I recently took appart the inside trim of the tailgate to remove the spoiler and found what seems to be a lead weight on rubber mounts bolted to the bottom below the screen. Is this just dead weight to aid with closing?

PM me as I might now someone with one for sale. Also how much should I ask for it so I can get it for you.

On the right hand side to balance out the rear wiper motor. Dead weight you can get rid of or just leave it there.

phew! I already chucked it because the struts are too weak to holt the lid up now.

New supra style spoiler weighs less than the old rubber one just need to fit it but it seems to be a shade on the narrow side - hope it's not for a SWB!?

The SWB is actually slightly wider at the back (IIRC). The difference isnt really noticeabe though. You wont know for sure until you try and fit the spoiler.

Its the lip at the end of the lid, where the tail light is above the boot, it has rusted through, the only other option ive had mentioned to me is cutting a bit of metal or something similiar to the same shape and trying to fit that on.
