Slick Pete know the score with slicks for stock rims too.

I think he has Kumhos but may change to Mickey Thompsons.

they are indeed Tim.

Both chunk and me have used the Kumho V70A road legal track day tyre.

My plan this tear is to try a pair of Mickey Thompson ET Street Radials.

Both these tyres will allow Chunk n me to run in the normal Z32 classes in the Z Club Drag Challenge.

The use of NON road legal tyres eg slicks or wets will automatically put the car into Super mod class.

As has already been said Jaffa is running a pair of slicks on stock 16" uk wheels.

No doubt he will be able to help with some more details.

The sheer variety of compounds and carcasses available makes choosing the best one a very difficult task.

And anyone on slicks will be competing against Gavin with his 11.5sec SBC monster!!!!

Pete how much are those road legal ones?

and how much of a differnce do they make to grip?

'bout £300 a pair fitted.

Wear rate factor of 50 as opposed to normal Kumho 712 of 200.

So much softer. Two tread grooves with 5mm small side treads with 3mm. rest of tyre is rubber. Dangerous in the wet.

When I come off the end of the strip they pick up dozens of little stone/grit pieces.

But I think the Mickey Thompson ET Radial is even softer.

does that mean they wear out 4 times as fast???

just a side note, I have Mickey Thompsan ET Street radials :D

they are 26x11.5x16 on stock UK rears. just about fit, though a bit tough to fit if your car is lowered

PS does this put me in Super mod or not? either way I'll give Gavin a run for his money ;);)
