Hi mate,

Try Jap Autoparts. I know they have a couple of Zeds at both Govan and Coatbridge.

We charge about £340 plus vat a side for these at work, not that ive ever sold any, i binned mine about 8 months ago!!!

wouldnt touch pattern part cats for a performance car TBH, they are cr@p!!!

they are usually 1/2 the size of genuine & have a crap flow rate.

have lost count of the amount of merc ones that we have had in where customers have had a non gen one fitted cos its cheap then come in to have it replaced for a genuine on cos they sound crap & loose performance!!!

yeagh we dont do alot either but still get pthe odd enquiry tooo bloody dear :headvswal

LOL! our merc ones are about £800+ for most models!! :D

u can get sports cats made up and they have a better flow rate but are alot more expensive

 why do you need cats might be cheaper to go for cat free downpipes as they are not req for mot if its an import :x:

Why not Decat?

This is what i'm mulling over, thought there might be turbo problems with a decat but after looking at some of the older threads the majority have had a positive outcome.

Its a 1990 TT so i know i'm ok on with the MOT and the decat prices seem pretty reasonable, didnt get a chance to phone nissan today but there will be know way there around the £200 mark.

DGM, I have Decats in my garage waiting to be fitted. ie, i'll have no use for the original cats when they get done.

Its a SWB NA though. I'm pretty sure they are the same size for LWB/SWB but i dont know if the NA/TT makes a difference.

As for Jap autoparts, i was in the govan unit not so long ago. All they have is a pile of melted plastic that once was a zed. They had another, NA again, that got moved to coatbridge.

Which decats did you opt for Scotty and cheers for the offer.

if you get the decat pipes from the Z centre they put mini silencers in the downpipes to keep the back pressure on the turbos had mine in for about 2 yrs and no probs with tubs yet

even after 92 your ok! up to 95 in fact ;)

read my FAQ!!

had the internals of the cats removed at a local garage for £60. sounded and worked good. not sure its the "right" way to do it but i didnt have any probs.
