I need to sell my zed to raise some cash and I just wondered if anyone could give me a rough idea of how much they think it might be worth.

It's a '93 series 2 Uk spec TT Auto in white, completely standard, leather is in excellent condition, interior immaculate, history, reconditioned turbo's by turboforce,Preston, that are now as brand new, some rust on back of the sills but nothing too major. The main problem is that the car is running but keeps overheating and due to my financial situation I simply cannot afford to spend any cash fixing it.

There are photo's in my rides section if anyone wants to look.

I'd really appreciate any info you guys could give me! :D

I don't really trust Ebay as people expect to buy these cars for peanuts and if you stick a sensible reserve on it it never sells. Thanks for the info though - I've been worrying that I won't be able to sell it with the overheating problem.

Do you know why its over heating?? if not put up a post on here and somebody might be able to advise you and it might not cost as much as you think to put right.

I know,I appreciate what you guys are saying but to be honest with you I just want to get it sold and then return to the zed scene when the money situation looks a bit more rosey!!

I know what your saying bud, I am in a similiar situation on one hand I want to sell the Z as the money would be good right now, but on the other hand I do'nt want to lose shed loads of money selling it now.

My Tax runs out the end of January and I am thinking of draining the fluids and preparing it for an off the road stint, covering it with a tarpaulin etc as I have read a few peoples posts saying theirs has been off the road for years and still starts first time. When I have landed another job that pays well then I will use it again. Can't you do the same??

Not really, got to find quite a bit of dosh in the next couple of months as my house roof went kaput over Christmas, among other things. My eldest sons bedroom now has 2 buckets in it to catch the water leaking from the ceiling 'cause a temp repair hasn't fixed the problem. So I've got to completely re-roof the house.

I've had the zed declared as SORN and had it stored under a cover in my garden for months and been meaning to do various bits and bobs to it and get it straight but with one thing and another I've never got round to it.

I just look at it out there in the garden and think it's such a shame, someone out there willing to spend some time and money on it could have themselves a really nice zed (and yes, after all this time it does start first time!!)

You will only get peanuts money with a problem like that.

Most potential buyers will assume a "worst case scenario" and factor in a full engine rebuild as overheating could be interpreted as blown heads.

White and auto are hardly selling points for a lot of people.

Jan too followed by Feb. Motor trade in general very quiet.

Sorry to sound negative. Nothing personal. You have asked for comments. Thats my assesment.

If you could arrange dry storage then holding on to it till your money situation improves might be a sensible option.

But dont listen to people who try and tell you "prices will pick up"...

Cars are a depreciating assett. FACT.

 speeddemon my zed was off the road for 13 mths parked on the car park at work started it once a month for 1/2 hour at a time fortunate enough to have rolling road at work when money was ok again all it cost me was new fluids and a new battery plus the mot no probs with it so far back on road about 2 mths now :hyper:
