Central locking not working from inside the car or outside.

Before I start to investigate, is there any common causes for this ??

 

Fuses, (1st choice) or relays, switch etc.

 

Any pointers would be gratefully appreciated.

have you got remote locking on the car ( check battery in fob ) mine played up and would'nt open due to anti jacking device HTH

If you have an alarm or remote locking the motor in the divers door may be siezed.

more likely to be the switch inside the drives door .its connected to the locking mechinism via a bar. this switch can fail causing the motor on the passenger side not to lock.. this is exactly what happened to me

 

test by applying a voltage to the wires coming out of it and see if the passenger door locks.

Put the key in the drivers lock and it only unlocks the drivers door.

Same if you are sitting inside and work the lock, only the drivers side works.

 

This is the same with the passenger side.

 

No remote system fitted (yet)

 

Will make a start this weekend. Any further suggestions, much obliged.

Must start and take a few pics while working on the car, really helpfull when identifing parts and such ! :bow:
