in all other cars i've owned when the indicators flash vey fast it usually means youve got a bulb out.

temp gauge should be in the middle when warm iirc

yeh thats what i thought but checked all the indicators and they are all flashing i was wondering if it might be the wrong wattage bulbs

guess i will have to take a look tomorrow

the temp gauge could be faulty, the gauges in general are not that great

so how hot should the heating get inside as mine seems quite hot. not as hot as my supra i had but they are different cars

on the max setting it starts hot then seems to go down in heat is this due to the automatic climate control???

also what sort of time can i expect to take to do an oil and filter change???

you probably have a pre 92 z so they had the series 1 heater controls that annoyingly dont blow air in the direction you want,so it can seem like the heat is random, possibly a poor working thermostat, hence why your car takes a while to heat up

oil changes religiously every 3k miles takes approx 20mins to do,use a good quality fully synthetic oil castrol rs 10-60 or 10-40w IMO

everything sorted apart from main beam not working anybody got any ideas is there a relay for main beam or is it just a fuse?????

Wade when are you about i will pop over and help if i can, my 300 has the same probs with oil pressure it just sits over 0 so im having some aftermarket gauges done boost and oil pressure as ive been running the car for a week and if the gauge was corect my engine would be in bits lol. give me a call 07725077426

hi craig

since ive done the oil and filter change the oil pressure is fine and car seems to be going okay ...

i have checked bulbs they seem fine continuity seems okay i seem to have 12v going to the bulbs but there dosent seem to be any earth because if i add and earth they work is the earth switched by the relay

You might have a jammed open or duff thermostat. Start the car from cold and the top rad hose should stay cold for a good while and suddenly heat up when the stat opens. The top hose should get hard as pressure rises. If it slowly gets warm from the start then the stat is open, broken or missing. Also check the guage by taking off the connector from the small guage sensor on the top hose connection. The big one is for the ecu connection.

Stock oil pressure guage senders are unreliable.

Changing oil and filter is the same as for any car, nothing special. Z TT sump only takes about 4 litres. Buy a copper sump plug washer from Nissan. The Nissan filter is cheap as well.

IIRC main beam relay is under the bonnet, front RH side as you're looking at the engine. Black cover, should be labelled accordingly.
