ok I'v removed rad and pipes as far back as poss, thanks to your replies

to Stellaz, ya5een

firstly my question is, is the idler highlighted green in pic 1 the same one as in

pic2 with red arrow?? If so, can i remove this? as it looks like it add

some tension to the timing belt.

Please advize.

finally, it was mentioned that to remove the bolt at the

rear of the compressor a flexi-socket is needed. WTF is a flexi-socket?? I have never heard of such a thing.

cheers in advance

i think the flexi socket they say is a wobbler socket they can move side to side to help get in to hard places normal socket is square and the flexi is like a triangle letting the socket move. this is what i think they mean i could be wrong

Dude the two pulleys are different!-you will need the one that's green cos' that's on the cam-belt! :D -the other one in fig 2 is just a drive belt pulley and can be ditched with the a/c!

HTH Buddy!

AFAIK, the flexi socket they're talking about is what I call a 'wobble' its like a small ordinary socket with a knuckle joint built in. You can buy them in sets or individualy from a GOOD auto factors or tool shop.

Off to buy a wobble 2morro ;)

cheers again

Could use a crow foot spanner which will still cause you probs because as you know not enough hand space, i did mine believe it or not all you need is a long screw driver put it in position near tps fuse box put a normal spanner on nut and get somene to hold spanner on nut while you tap it from top with screw driver using hammer etc, honestly took me few mins, it will only take couple hits job done this is the way i did it with out any hassle after using all mentioned tools give it a try you will be surprised how easy it actually can be.
