I have hit 504.8 bhp then I changed the gap in the spark plug and the car has just made a 60bhp increase so I am now 564.8bhp do you think this is at all possible?

Can I gain 60bhp by changing the gap in my spark plugs? 11 members have voted

Don't see why not but I'm no expert.

Hope you still have that big mid range power too - I'm a great beiever in the area under the graph, not the highest point theory.

Not a bad power figure either! Fair play mate! :hyper:

Not sure about exact figures but as soon as you start changing the Fuel/Air ratio or changing the compression the Gap is critical to the spark required...

Noz for example needs to be a bigger gap to cope with the extra fuel and air ;)

yes, if you engine is not burning the fuel properly then the the bhp will decrease.

No the gap was fine and the engine was running spot on;)

No the gap was fine and the engine was running spot on;)

then no. there will be an adverse effect. :D

I take it youve uped the heat range as well on the plugs to cope with your molten manifolds?

And it would be advised to steer clear of the platinum plated spark plugs as these will cause backfires ;)

It all depends on the plug you have, but generally the higher the boost pressure, the closer you have to make the gap as the extra turbulence from the higher boost blows the spark out?

But I am unfamiliar with the plugs you have got?

gap the buggers to a cypriot inch and you will give that bugatti a right good run for its money!! who needs to spend a million quid when all you had to do it gap the plugs better

Sorry to hijack, but Mickey, What wheels are those on your zed? I love those wheels!!!

i personally think you need to lay off the crack!!!

that your losing your mind!! getting old an all!!

chunk said and I quote

Cheap crap wheelmania's buddy!

lol, they are good wheels mate, well i like em, so fuk him. :D

they are mania vortex.

LOL, i did say that! LMAO!! :D

Ye blonde eeeeeejoit!

Anyway, Ahem returning to topic................

Simple.

Yes if it made the BHP increase.

And no your car couldnt of been running properly or it wouldnt of jumped 60 bhp :p

well fook me, ive wasted all that money on decatting, stainless exhaust, lightened flywheel, bliotz filter and so on

all i had to do was go out with me feela gauges and get instant free power lol

going to drill a hole in me airbox next (another 40 bhp)

i am probably wrong in saying this (but i dont give a shite anymore), but i wouldnt have thought that an extra 60 hp from altering the gap would be possible, maybe a few extra horses but not 60

I aint an expert niether but I can not see how this would be possible. Surely if you got too much spark you would hole your piston? And anyway some fooker would be selling the idea on E Bay.

So I think not?

6 BHP maybe but not 60BHP?

Could have sworn I read something between the lines there, ah must be blurry eyes. But my answer is NO! I've got less patience with crazy claims these days, don't mean to give sh*t to people but its just foolish IMO. Sure its going to run better and get some better figures but 60hp? There are cars out there with that much power under the bonnet (!). Its only my judgement and I don't wear a white coat and specs but there you go.

Surely if you got too much spark you would hole your piston??

How the fvuck do you come to that conclusion???

i cant vote, but similarly i cant believe 6 people believe it. Two explanations, A- they are taking the piss, or B- they havent read the other thread and honestly believe Mac has done this today and are willing to believe everything he says!!!

LOL cheeky fooker

Well i think this would be very possible mac! At the same time why dont you put a pan on the top of the engine and do a poached egg at the same time. Now thats skill LOL
