well well it never rains but it pours LOL!! :mac1:

so after shelling out 5k for a new engine and tubs the car is awsome, so i fitted a hks alc everything was fine at lower speeds but trying it out at over 100mph funny things happend :o

floored it at over 100mph and all that happend was the revs went sky high but no more speeds!!! do autoboxes slip????

so on the way home i thought right then lets try again this time got up to 125mph and was bouncing off the red line waiting to change up nope nothing shit :headvswal

so off came the alc tried again this evening 125mph again no slip but again bouncing off the redline and on the rev limiter not good for my new engine :headvswal

but driving normal no probs at all changes up and down ok great,

i have never cleaned the autobox but not sure if the mechanic who swapped engines would have change the auto oil!!

should i try this first take the autobox sump off and give it a good cleanning or is the autobox on the way out

any help very much appreceated.

could be number of things first check thing like TPS settings also if autobox fluid hasn't been changed may be filter is blocked in auto box this what was wrong with mine, once oil/filter was cleaned it was fine.

when autoboxes go bad they usually give nasty clunking sounds, so possibly an electrical/sensor/limiter problem? hope so for your sake bud!

right then so next step is to change the oil take the sump off give it a good clean then try the autobox diagnostic ;)

then its high ho up the open road and see if it changes up after 125mph :hyper:

take the ALC out and refit this usually happens when the connectors have not been put together properly either too tight or too loose I have also seen this happen with a faulty ALC, the test will be if you remove it, the autobox should work fine

Does the power light flash when you first turn the ignition on before you start the car ? if it does turning the ignition off then on again will reset the problem & you should get o/d again!

get your head out ya arse

fitting an ALC to an already old gearbox will ceartainly not prolong the life of the box

check condition of the oil,but im fearing your box is dead, most are dying now and need upgrading, hope an oil change will help.

yeah think that was my mistake fitting the alc but will try a good oil change and take the sump off and cleaning the filter!! lets hope mega £££££ is not involved,

thanks ryan yeah im really bad at tightneing stuff up im not happy till the spanner is pinging its so tight, the ecu plug looks very tight to me so i will try to loosen it off and refit this time with 3 clicks of the elbow LOL!!

get your head out ya arse

Wtf is that all about? :nono:

meaning your quote :headvswal FFS because someone misred something,no need mate :nono: back to you

stick of rock anyone?

Likewise..........

Fitted ALC, ran great for 3,000 miles, liked the crisp shifts etc. then my box started its death, not changing up revving to limiter in a false neutral then totally died with a horrible graunching noise and lost reverse gear completely..........

Welcome to the club mate these old autoboxes are dying one-by-one and the HKS ALC should be re-named Autobox Life Claimer as it seems to play a part in most of the recent deaths.

Thankfully Ztech has my zed over chrimbo for two new 360 degree bearing turbos and a new up-rated autobox. hmmm cannot wait. :D

oh my fooooking gawd here we go again :headvswal, more ££££££ really hope the oil change and clean out works and checking the ecu socket for overtightning :o

top gear works fine just if you keep your foot planted it will hit the rev limiter at 125mph and not change up but otherwise will work great

slight aside and not trying hi jack but whats the alc supposed to do anyways... the hks website kinda vague/im being thick
