My 300zx TT auto has sprung a leak in the main rad :headvswal . I dont want to fix it.

Am looking for a good replacement that will drop str8 in, what do you think is best rad to fit. Bearing in mind the car is being modded so will be running a tad hotter.

Also should I install a new oil cooler 4 auto box & reg engine oil.

Should I also remove the ancillary rad too?

Cheers

Marc

Get a "HOWE RAD" from http://www.z1motorsports.com in the good old U S Of A. Better built than a Koyo any day

LOL they're poo, funny how its only you who thinks they are better than Koyo :o

Get a Koyo from Chris@Getgreddy.

Vinz how do you work that out LOL you should have seen the Howe rad that ChrisC bought from Z1 it was bent like a banana  MTL was also there when Chris opened the box,he could not stop laughing

KOYO from Mr Greddy!!

110%

What makes the Koyo better than the Howe?

Vijay

I would say the build quality Vijay.

Never seen a Koyo but I've got a Howe rad from Z1 waiting to go in and can't see any problems with build quality.

Looks like a Koyo then. How much they cost?

Also what about the other oil coolers and rads etc. Whats the best approach to upgrading, ie removing ancillary rad n adding more oil coolers as in my original q's

Cheers folks

I beg to differ :hyper: The Howe rad has a billit neck made seperatly then welded on.Unlike the Koyo which is a pressed out one.So alot stronger made all round.Z1 designed it in conjunction with Howe Rads and as Z1 know there stuff when it comes to Zeds I went with theres.I was put off by you Mac,ref Koyo because when yours arrived the neck was squashed on your Koyo and you had to get it changed (FACT) Go with what ever you prefer. Also I dont expect to be jumped on by traders for giving my advice!

Fraid they haven't been like that for a few years Vinz, they are a welded on neck and not formed from pressing.

Wind yer neck in will yer, how have i jumped on you ? you gave your opinion i gave mine.

As Andy Duff used to say 300zx.co.uk the world biggest playground :headvswal

With you all the way, i had both in my hands at the same time and i went for the howe racing rad, better build and inner core design for cooling, but wot do i know i've only been an engineer for 35 yrs ? and its only my opinion.

your opinion mate, that's what we're all entitled to :) there was just no need for the other bloke to flame Koyo's. Customer satisfaction is very high with Koyos and that's a fact :)

Basically you have to decide whatever is best for you, but I have seen and installed both radiators and some Z1 radiators have been bent out of true and the welds have not even been comparable to the quality of Koyo, there was something about Howie not making Z1 radiators as well, not sure how true this is?

Basically either radiator will be better than stock that's a no brainer, but I cannot install Z1 rads because the quality control is not good, and once they have landed it's not exactly worth my while to return the faulty item!

I am not trying to start a flame war or anything, just trying to be honest with people!

Vinz I think I was the first on here to fit an after market rad it was around 3 years ago and at the time Koyo did have an issue the the neck.

As Topless has pointed out this is no longer an issue and like I said about when ChrisC had his delivered from Z1 it was bent like a banana and that is a FACT!

When we compared them together the Howe was not in the same class it looked like a very cheap core was used and the welding was like crow shit LOL;)

LOL they're poo, funny how its only you who thinks they are better than Koyo :o

You wind yer neck in,I gave my opinion you took the pi$$.Not biased are we ,as you dont sell Howe :( I based my advice on another members experiance. If koyo have changed there neck design from pressed out to one similer to Howe prooves my point .

Gents I think we need to cool down GET IT :D
