I'm toying with the idea of selling my Zed. What do you think I should be asking?

It's a 1992 (K reg) J-spec NA, Autobox, leather, all original except 99-Spec rear lights, 6 disc CD player and converted to MPH.

It has around 65k miles on it and will shortly be MOT'd.

Thanks everyone.

Ask £4500 with the intention of taking £4250 mate

What its worth and what you will get is 2 different things, IMO if you want to sell it this time of year and dont want to wait for than a couple of months for a buyer then £2500 if its in pretty good condition. Advertise it for £2750, if your prepared to wait then try selling in March and ask for £3500 ish.

Thanks guys.

Maybe I'll try an adventurous price on Ebay, but I'm not hopeful at this time of year.

An idea of pricing for something that actually went, rather than just an ad -

I ended up swapping the na for a tt...

N reg NA in near mint condition,no mods...

Advertised for about 3 months at various prices...4700, 5600, 4500, 4200, 3900 etc.

Eventually got it down to 3300 b4 a member offered a swap.

Based on my experience, guy above is right - value 2500 ish.

BUT, depends on who is looking for the car on that day.

If i were you,I'd value the car high to start, see if anyone takes it.

Bring it down over time.

Bear in mind that auctions attract their fair share of the public now.

i was at an auction last year with cash. Waited for an fto to go through - I had it in my own mind at 3000 sell price(quick sale), 36oo if I hung on to it for a while.

Was willing to go the full 2500 i had in my pocket.

Car sold for 4500 because 2 numptie Joe Q Publics wanted it.

Most folks just laughed.

Might not be a crazy idea to give it a go.

:)

Thanks John, you have a few good points there. I think I will wait until after the MOT and then stick it on ebay with a decent reserve.

Cheers...
