best thing to do is clean the whole area with carb cleaner, get it up like new then look for leaks, all to difficult to spot where its to caked in oil, check diff oil levels aswell as hicas levels

:D ...how do you check the diff oil level.

undo the drain plug,if it doesnt pour out its low ;) but if its leaking best bet is to drain it all, which is very gloopy oil more like treacle and replace it,if it gets to low,it could possibly cause more damage, like damage to the ring-gear and parts inside

I had a similar problem about 3 years ago - turned out to be the oil seals on the rear drive shafts. not too difficult to change once you've got under the car. The most difficult bit was getting the old seals out imo

Hope this helps

I gor very worried when i got back from Bruntingthorpe and found a mass of oil all over the garage floor under the back of the car, as it was red i guessed id popped a hicas line.

But it turned out to be a bottle of atf i keep in the polystyrene tray in the boot had split, thus filling the spare wheel well with atf and it dripping out of the drain plug!!!!
