Hey guys, the knight rider again!!

Ok i'll try to explain this the best i can....

When i come to the car first thing the clutch is fine...bite point at the floor and lots of pressure at the bottom of the travel. However, after driving and obviously using the clutch for a while the bite point rises to the top of the pedal travel and eventually the pedal stops and the clutch isn't engaged properly hence it rides.

Now, when i bleed the clutch to relieve this problem it does improve but the bite point is NOT at the floor. Its half way down the pedal. but if left overnight, again the clutch bite point returns to immediately off the floor and the clutch is fine.

Next sypmtom is that when the clutch is depressed it feels squishy if u know what i mean, not totally pressurised. Its almost as if i can feel air moving about inside it.

Now, i've bled the slave, master and the pipey thing at the front of the engine bay and it doesn't seem to want to move.

Previous to the master cylinder seals being replaced the clutch operation was perfect all it did was leak fluid down the back of the pedal into the car.

So i'm a tad confused, how can the clutch and the slave suddenly be faulty if the system was working fine up until the master cylinder seals were replaced?

Any ideas PLEASE get in touch cos if i had any hair left - i'd be ripping it out!!

Thanx again guys for all the help you been giving me, its a tad annoying having to bleed the clutch everytime i drive the damn thing!!

could be a leak, check the slave cylinder pull the gaitor back and see if theres any fluid lying in it. or it could even be a knicked seal in the master cylinder... good luck hope you find the fault soon

I dunno mate, there doesn't seem to be any air in it, until i bleed it but then its always been used so there are little tiny bubbles coming through the tube. But when its bled they all go, half an hour later they're back. What i did notice today was that the master cylinder cylinder bleed nipple has fluid around the thread, so i dunno if thats leaking?!

Gettin really sick of it now though mate!!!!

HELP!!!! :headvswal

Rich, I can understand your frustration, the only time I can lend a hand is the weekends.........if it's any help I have a brand new master cylinder in my garage and various bits and pieces........but you need to get to Winsford.Don't take this the wrong way mate but your workshop is cr*p plus all my tools are handy. Have a word with smithy for a replacement clutch flexi pipe... quite reasonably priced and would eliminate the chance of your flexi being porous........which is a possibility. oops just remembered I think smithys on his hols.

It is a combination of really THOURGH bleeding and pedal adjustment. I know its a pain but when you finally get it right its fine.

Use the link above it explains how to do it.
