Forgot to post this and I've just remebered about it.

Several weeks ago I replaced the shocks and springs all round and had to take the boot area panels out. I found quite a large puddle between the rear wing and the wheel arch (passenger side). It was almost directly below the petrol filler. Could it be leaking in from there an would it be easy (probably not) to find and seal ?

Get the hose out and a torch and have a look and see if you can find anything, also look for rusty water runs on the panels and check to see if theres a drainage pipe running from higher up to an exit point near there.

Try the rubber on the rear wiper. If it's not seated corectly it pi55es in, then layes in the tail gate panel and runs to which ever side the car is parked. ie. pasenger side in the curb.....

Is the carpet wet at any time??

No mate, you can't see of feel any water on the carpet or anywhere else, the other side is fine. You can only see it in that corner when all the trim is removed.
