A silly mare drove in to the back of my Omega last month. Damage was minimal but the bill for the repair is £1065 + VAT. The adjusters offered me £900 but said that if I decide to get an adjuster to come and inspect the car, it will more than likely be a total loss. Therefore, as I will be getting a company car next month and it needs a new alternator, I decided to go for the loss.

What I want to know is, how long is it between the adjuster comes out and says it's a right off, and the car actually being taken away? Days, weeks, months?

Just want to know so that I can gauge whether to get another car or not in the mean time.

Cheers

cos mate why not strip your car down and sell the bits of???? you will be better off

i haven't got the time mate even though it does make sence as it has a full black electric setup and more toys than you can shake a stick at!

I would still try and do it mate, even if you just well a few bits off. I'm sure there is an omega owner out there would would love your leather seats (i'm assuming they are leather) and also some other easy to remove bits like clocks, door cards, mirrors, lights (external). To get that lot out you're looking at finding 2 hours, and i bet you'll get over £400 for it all, which isn't too bad!
